This work package will address the lack of a pan-disciplinary regional network of women scientists.

Objectives

To create a database of female experts covering the countries involved in the CEC-WYS. In creating a database, highly qualified women will be given a platform by which to make themselves more visible for the purposes of project participation and invitation to advisory committees, boards and expert panels. It will provide a source for networking for women in the region. If so desired, they will receive regular mailings on relevant seminars, news and networking opportunities.

After the structure of the database is defined, a subcontractor will be hired to construct the database. While the database is constructed, each national contact delegate will collect information on women in science. Periodic registration calls will be launched to tie in with the delivery of major project reports and publication of data. This will occur roughly every 6 months, and will be the responsibility of every Central European project partner.

• launch of a database of women experts in CEC-WYS countries - August 2004

• administration of the database of women experts in Central Europe and calls for registration – August 2004 – March 2007
