Irish Ministry of Trade and Commerce has devoted €4.3 million to women returning from maternity, carer or adoption leave to renter their scientific career.
The main aim of the commission is the monitoring of the equal opportunities for women and men in science not only in research, but also in management of scientific institutions. The strengthening of gernder equality is in Slovak Academy of Sciences seen as an important tool for both qualitative and quantitative development of human resources in science and research.
Funded by the Federal Office for Professional Education and Technology, equal opportunities' representatives in universities will be introduced, and projects that create favourable conditions for women in the technology, IT and management sectors, and motivate them to follow a University of Applied Sciences course in these areas will be supported.
Established by the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport in 2001 as an advisory/expert body to the Ministry. The National Committee advises the Ministry on the integration of equal opportunities in research policy, and it informs researchers and general public on findings and recommendations of the Helsinki group and of its own findings.
The Committee identifies best practices in gender mainstreaming and supports the development of gender mainstreaming tools. These include the earmarking of profferships and post doc feelowships for women, administered at university level.
